FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
2020 has not been a good year for us, my friends.
The global pandemic has shut down businesses right and left, including Ghosts of Denton.
I can't maintain a good social distance
and tell you a story through a mask!
Here is hoping that we get a vaccine by the end of the year.
Until 2021, be smart, stay safe, and don't become a ghost of Denton!

While you are perfectly welcome to contact Shelly to ask more questions, check below before you do. You might find the answers you seek.
Are reservations required?
Yes. Advance purchase is required to ensure your space. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can be purchased securely on-line using a Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Please see the "Know Before You Go" page before booking ... and make sure that you have chosen the right date on the calendar before you purchase your tickets.
How much does it cost?
Tickets are $15/person for adults and $10/person for ages 6-11.
Is the tour suitable for young children?
The tour is geared to adults. While younger children are welcome, we do ask that you attend them so that others can enjoy the show.
Can I bring my dog?
If it is a service dog, then of course you can. While Denton is a dog-friendly town, there are people who are uncomfortable around them. It's probably best not to bring them.
Do we go into buildings?
Only one, and we don't go into that one on every tour. This is a 90 minute outdoor walking tour (but you can always go back and investigate later while patronizing the establishments).
Where do we meet you?
The tour begins at The Discover Denton Welcome Center, 111 W. Hickory Street on the south side of the Square..
Can I record on the tour?
Still photography is always welcome, so use your camera or your cell phone(although, please turn the ring tone off!). Our tours are copy written, therefore, absolutely NO video or audio recording is allowed. Skyping or any other kind of recording device is not allowed. Thank you in advance for respecting our wishes.
Will I see a ghost?
I would like to tell you that you will, but no one can predict that. However, your camera might record one.
What if the weather is bad?
Tours operate rain or shine, unless weather is dangerous. In the rare case when we have to cancel due to severe weather, you will be notified and will be allowed to reschedule your tickets or receive credit for a future event.
Can I go in a wheelchair?
This tour is unfortunately not very wheelchair friendly, because we cross streets and have to navigate curbs. Although some people have gone in a wheelchair, you might prefer to schedule a special group tour for you and some friends by contacting Shelly.
What if I can't walk that far?
The walk really isn't that far, since most of it is centered on the square. Consider that it is about 7-10 blocks (depending on the night) with a lot of stopping, listening, and sitting (if you would like to bring a camp stool with you). The walk is not difficult unless you have a physical condition or if you are a heart patient. In this case, we would ask you to consult your physician before taking the tour.
Can I bring a drink?
Yes; of any kind. However, we ask that you to take responsibility if you are consuming an alcoholic beverage and be considerate of others around you. Children do come on our tours. If you become or are intoxicated, you will be asked to leave WITHOUT A REFUND.
What do I need to bring on the tour?
Mostly, just your imagination. Mosquito repellent is not a bad idea during summer months in Texas. A bottle of water is a smart choice, too. I usually suggest that people consider wearing comfortable shoes and dressing appropriately for the weather. By all means bring your camera. If you have trouble standing for any length of time, a small camp stool is handy.
Do you offer Private Tours?
You betcha! I've given tours for Cub Scout Troops, Red Hat Ladies, school field trips, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, and more! Just contact me, and we will work out a tour that fits your needs.
