About the Ghosts of Denton Tour
Numerous people have been asking about the ghost tour, so it’s time to give an update. I’ve had to make a difficult decision, but there will be no more public Ghosts of Denton tours in the near future (if at all).
The past year I have been battling cancer, with chemo, radiation, surgery, and a heavier round of chemo. It seems to have done the job, but it has left my body too weak to stand and walk around the square for an evening talking to you. It has left my immune system too weak to fight off a cold, much less Covid.
To those of you who have been my patrons, I cannot thank you enough for the support and the opportunity to share the stories. It has been a pleasure. To those I have missed, I’m sorry I won’t get to entertain you.
I hope our paths cross down the road. Meanwhile, Happy Trails.

Shelly Tucker, a professional storyteller for 27 years, has dedicated herself to unearthing these tales to share them with you in an entertaining evening of spine-tingling storytelling. Formerly of Denton Haunts, Shelly created her own venue to be able to give you the best entertainment experience she can offer. She has gained a following of fans who have joined her more than once to hear the tales ... especially because she is constantly adding new stories and never has time to tell them all in one night!

The city of Denton, and the county surrounding it, has fascinating history. It also has more than its fair share of ghostly stories. The town of Denton had 14 major fires on the square during the period between 1860 and 1895. During those fires, early records of the county were lost and perhaps that is why the spirits linger ... they just want someone to remember. Maybe, or it could be that they just like the night life in Denton! Denton has a lot of interesting characters, and reportedly many ghosts! There are so many stories, that Shelly tells different ones each night. On any night you might hear the tales of the ghostly hooligan, the dead Comanche's bones, the librarian who never "checked out," or the man who survived the Goliad massacre to die in a suspicious fire. Perhaps you'll hear tales of Sam Bass and his friend/nemesis Jim Murphy (who some say still haunt the streets of Denton), or the blind sheriff who protects and serves from beyond the grave. After a Ghosts of Denton tour, you won't look at the town the same way in the daylight.
The walking tour is approximately 90 minutes, and most of it revolves around the square, although on some nights there are a few stops that are about two blocks away. Tour participants should wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing. In summer, it's a good idea to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. For more information, visit the FAQ page.
